Band Playing Tests

Parents,
We are now starting to get into a groove (pun intended) with our band classes. You can expect that your child will have a playing test every Friday. The student should know what it will be at the beginning of the week. You can find out what the playing tests are if you go to our website, barberband.org and click the calendar link. This week there is not a playing test for the 7th graders. The 7th graders will resume weekly playing tests starting next week.
When we do these playing tests on Fridays, we will go around the room, playing them in front of the group. If your child does not want to play it in front of the group, he or she has two options:
1. come before school (8:00am – 8:30am) or stay after school (4:30-5:30) to play it for Mr. Cahal or

myself

2. submit a video recording (from any electronic device) of the playing test to my email, [email protected] – this is a really popular option for our 7th and 8th graders because they get a couple times to try it and I get the benefit of knowing that they are practicing at home!
I need to have the video recording email or hear the student individually before Friday’s class in order for me not to hear the student during class. I hope this information helps.
We are still working on an electronic system to report the practice cards, please stay tuned.
Please let me know if you have any questions. We are off to a great start!
