Parents and students,
I hope everybody has enjoyed their recent snow break. I have a couple of reminders and some changes to the calendar concerning this month’s schedule. 8th grade parents, by now, you should know that March is the busiest month in the year for us. We have a lot going on. Below is the updated schedule with changes. All of these changes are also reflected on my band calendar at barberband.org
Monday – 3/2
*CALENDAR UPDATE* LGPE Permission and $10 for Stevie B’s is due – if your child is on more than one trip, than he or she needs to bring in two forms and a total of $20.00 for meals
Tuesday 3/3 – Concert
*CALENDAR UPDATE* 7th Grade at 6:00 pm. 7th graders will have a rehearsal starting at 4:30 and will stay through after school. They need to bring their concert attire with them to school that day. They will change into their attire after school. This is due the limited rehearsals that we had because of the snow days
8th Grade Concerts are starting at 7:00pm. The students need to be there at 6:30 in the proper concert attire. If a 7th grader is performing with an 8th grade group, he or she will just stay until the end of the second concert.
Thursday 3/5 – 8-2 Band Rehearsal After School from 4:30 to 6:30
*CALENDAR UPDATE* This rehearsal is to make up missed days from the snow days. The concert will be the first time since symphonic camp that we will have put together the entire 8-2 band. This rehearsal will help us get back on track for our LGPE performance the following week.
Monday 3/9 – 8-1 Band Rehearsal After School from 4:30 to 6:30
Tuesday, 3/10 – 8-2 LGPE (details are on the LGPE Permission form)
Wednesday, 3/11 – 8-1 LGPE (details are on the LGPE Permission form)
Wednesday, 3/18 – After School Rehearsal with 7th Grade Band – 4:30 to 6:30pm
Tuesday, 3/24 – 7th Grade Band LGPE (details are on the LGPE Permission form)
Other than the three changes (permission due on Monday (7th graders staying after school until the concert on Tuesday, and 8-2 rehearsal on Thursday), the afterschool calendar is exactly the same. Things are going well and I think that they are going to have a very successful LGPE season. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concern.
